The Cassino War Museum
The Museum appeared to be a recent addition to Cassino. Housed upstairs on the outskirts of Cassino near the A1 Autostrade. It also appears to be operated by an association of volunteers who are specifically trying to preserve the memory of the World War 2 battles.
The museum is co-located with a 'Ristorante' and a Bowling Alley, but it seems it will only improve with time and is definitely worth the visit. Artifacts from the battlefield, manikens dressed in the different soldiers uniforms, weapons and equipment of the day are all on display, as well as a series of huge photographs fully captioned in Italian, English, German and Polish. These show the before, during and after images, of the 6 month battle for Cassino.
